Through the years, EVS has won many national awards for excellence, and has earned the support of such organizations as the Ford Foundation, NBC4, Telemundo Washington, the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation, the IDB-DC Solidarity Program, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, the Maryland Montgomery County Council, the Washington Post, the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the AFL-CIO, Amnesty International, the American Legacy Foundation, Citicorp, the American Red Cross, the Public Welfare Foundation, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Arca Foundation, the Fannie Mae Foundation, the U.S. Office of Minority Health, the Washington AIDS Partnership, the Philip. L. Graham Fund, and the National Council of La Raza.

General support grants from the Meyer Foundation and the Cafritz Foundation have helped EVS to produce more than 150 Línea Directa public education television programs in association with NBC4 since the end of 2000.
